<p>The number one best chest exercise is the pushup.  This self-lift builds up the pecs, the shoulders, and the triceps at the same time. You can do this on the floor with your knees bent or straight, or against the wall.  Keep your abs tucked in to do this right!</p>
<p>Second is the chest press, done best on a bench but also possible on the floor. With a dumb-bell in each hand, spread your arms out and slowly bring them together above your chest, allowing the dumb-bells to touch slightly. Watch the abs, again.</p>
<p>A bodybuilder&#8217;s favorite is putting your hands together in front of your chest and pressing, holding for fifteen seconds at a time. Exhale while doing so and tighten the pecs for maximum effect.</p>
<p>Fourth, to add bulk to the chest, is the pullover. Done with or without a bench, it entails lifting a dumb-bell above your chest with both hands and lowering it behind your head. Raise above your chest again and repeat.</p>
<p>Fifth, the pec dec adds definition. With two dumb-bells, your elbows bent and the weights lifted above your shoulders, bring your arms together as on a machine to let your forearms touch and then swing them back out again.</p>
<p>Sixth, the chest fly has the dumb-bells out to the side with the elbows a little bent. Lift weights above the chest then lower back down again.</p>
<p>And last uses no weights again. Lift yourself up using a bar then with your elbows tucked in, lower yourself until your elbows are parallel to the floor. Lift yourself back up after a pause.</p>
<p>Word of warning: never do any of the exercises without a proper warm-up before hand and always work with a spotter when doing weights.</p>
